2. FRP crossarm Standard.

The fiber glass reinforced plastic (FRP) material and cross arm shall be tested in accordance with the requirements of the latest published

edition of the standard specified below and amendments thereof .

a) ASTM – D695 Standard test method for compressive properties of rigid plastics.

b) ASTM - D257 Standard test methods for DC resistance or conductance of insulating materials.

c) ASTM – D149 Standard test method for dielectric breakdown voltage and dielectric strength of solid electrical insulating materials at

commercial power frequencies.

d) ASTM – G53 Operating light –and water exposure apparatus fluorescent UV - (Fluorescent UV-condensation) for exposure of nonmetallic

materials.

All aspects, tests, etc. not covered by the above standard shall be executed according to this standard to the fullest satisfaction of the

purchaser.

3. Mechanical property.

The mechanical properties of FRP hollow shall not be less than value given below in the table.

Our crossarms are capped with injection molded UV resistant Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) high-impact strength caps.

The caps are bonded and mechanically interlocked to the end of the arms. The caps also help protect the arms from water and insect intrusions.
